DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION
University of Hyderabad

Current Students

Congratulations on being selected to study at the Department of Communication! We are delighted you have chosen to study with us and hope that your time at UoH will produce many wonderful and exciting experiences.

The first thing you do on entering the department is to attend an orientation. During the orientation you can:

  • Get to know all the important details about the programme & how it is administered
  • Meet all the faculty & staff
  • Get to know the department facilities etc.
  • Familiarise yourself with how to use the facilities available
  • Get to know how to access books from the central library
  • Get to know how to register for courses & get your Identity Card
  • Open a bank account for all financial transactions with the university

IMPORTANT

While the department offers core & specialised courses and expects all students to attend them regularly, it also offers  a couple of optional courses. However, students can choose from among the optionals offered by other departments. The Department will help you in choosing the right course relevant to your programme.

All theory courses are FOUR credits. All practical courses are SIX credits.  This means the faculty will meet you for four hours in a week for theory courses & six hours per week for every practical course.

Students are expected to have a minimum of 75% attendance in every course they register for. Those not having the required minimum are disallowed from writing the examination for  that course.

Faculty of the respective courses will hand over the relevant course content & assignments that students are expected to complete mandatorily.

In short, it a mixture of hard work & exciting fun. Your efforts will be worth it since a degree from University of Hyderabad is recognized worldwide.
